Hello, welcome to Your Dorking Doula. I'm Caroline, mum to Lucy, step mum to my 4 wonderful stepchildren and wife to Will. I am lucky to have a fulfilling family life, however, my true passion lies in fertility, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I am dedicated to empowering families as they begin their journey to parenthood.
I offer comprehensive birth and postnatal doula services, providing personalised care to nurture your strength and support informed choices.
My services include:

Continuous physical, emotional, and informational labour support, supporting you to navigate your birth choices and achieve the most positive birth experience possible.
Postpartum care, including breastfeeding support, new-born care, and emotional support, for a supported and gentle transition into parenthood.

As a doula I'm a professional prenatal, birth and postnatal friend who provides physical and emotional support to you and your partner. I offer a safe space to talk, signposting your options. I do not advise, but provide options to enable you to make informed decisions. Support can be very individual to the family and needs, but ultimately it’s my job to help you feel safe and comfortable before, during and after birth. A doula provides expert support and guidance throughout pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, ensuring personalised care tailored to your needs. During this time, we will focus on preparing you for a positive and informed birth experience. We'll embark on a journey of discovery, exploring your birth preferences, creating a personalised birth plan, and equipping you with practical tools like comfort measures, relaxation techniques, and optimal labour positions.
During the prenatal period, we (you, me and your partner) will discuss anything you'd like about your pregnancy and birth, preferences and intentions.
During this time, I’ll be patiently waiting for your call, no matter what the time of day! I’ll be there to support, empower and care for you as you give birth to your baby, ensuring your voice is heard.
I’ll be with you the entire time (but I will also give you privacy if you need it), and I’ll be there to listen for you, to advocate for your birth intentions. I will support you and your partner in having a positive and enjoyable birth experience, in every way I can.
I’ll also be there to support your birth partner in being an active companion.
Nurturing your journey, empowering your choices.
The arrival of your baby marks the beginning of a new chapter, and I'll be there to support you through this transition. We focus on "mothering the mother," providing emotional support, practical assistance with new-born care and breastfeeding, and helping you adjust to your new role. We'll create a nurturing space for healing, rest, and bonding, ensuring you feel confident and supported as you embrace the beautiful journey of parenthood.
I'm also happy to look after older siblings, cook nutritious meals, help with light housework, and to look after your baby as you try to catch some sleep or simply have a shower.
Your Birth Package
(£2000)
Includes:
1. Three prenatal sessions, allowing us to get to know one another, and allowing me to understand your birthing intentions. (2 hours each)
Phone, text, and email support throughout pregnancy to offer emotional support, and answer any questions that you might have.
2. I'll also loan you books and signpost you to helpful resources, tailored to your interests, to ensure you've got all the help and advice you need. I'll be on call from Week 38, and two weeks after your estimated date of birth (this is 24/7 – I mean it!). However, if your baby is born before or after this period of time, I'll do my very best to be there for your birth.
3. You'll also receive support during the entire birth and a postnatal visit (2 hours). There will also be phone, text, or email support during the first four weeks with your baby, to provide all the support you might need.
Postnatal Support
£30/hour
(4 hour minimum blocks)
Each overnight plan is discussed in advance to meet the needs of the family (12 hour block)
If you are breastfeeding your baby, I can change, settle and put the baby back to sleep.
If you are bottle feeding, I will care for the baby throughout the night – feeding, burping, changing, settling, and putting the baby down after feeding.
I will take notes during the night, describing the baby’s activity such as waking/feeding times, amount the baby eats, type of dirty nappies and if the baby settled well or not.
I will clean and wash bottles and pumping supplies, and can make formula in advance for the following day.
